PEAR::Mail::Mime::Decode is a PEAR package I maintain. Mail::Mime::Decode contains a set of classes that can be used to read and parse MIME E-Mail messages. The standard PHP imap_*() funtions that parse mail can only work on mail that is accessed via the IMAP/pop3 protocol. By using Mail::Mime one can parse bot IMAP/pop3 based mail, as mail from normal files, or from stdin://. Perfect for parsing inbound emails without having to set up an imap-server to hold the mails while you parse them.
